Quiziology is a medical imaging based quiz application designed for medical professionals. The application is a game which quizzes the user on pertinent anatomy. An unknown anatomical structure is presented to the user and the user will scroll through cross sectional imaging to find the correct anatomical location. The user touches the screen in the suspected location of the unknown and Quiziology will calculate if the user was correct as well as allow the user to review the anatomy before proceeding to the next unknown.
In addition to the quiz functionality, Quiziology can also be used as an atlas when the game is placed in review mode. While in review mode, the anatomical structure is highlighted and the user can review the anatomy in axial, sagittal, and coronal planes. The user can select from the entire list of anatomical unknowns in each category by touching the text of the unknown at the top of the screen while in review mode.
The current version of Quiziology is based on anatomy from the head, neck, and brain. This application includes quizzes based on the gyri of the brain, major arteries of the head and neck, ventricles and cisterns of the brain, lymph node levels of the head and neck, skull base foramen, and skull base bones. Future versions of Quiziology will expand to include anatomy of the chest, abdomen/pelvis, and extremities.
